Registered Nurse Towson - Geriatric (Day/Eve)

The Geriatric Neuropsychiatry Unit is a 14-bed unit providing treatment for patients whose psychiatric symptoms may be the result of Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease, neurodegenerative disorders or head traumas.As a Registered Nurse/RN you will:Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans.Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff.Document and report patient progress to treatment team.Requirements:Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position.Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferredPreferred Geriatric and/or Med-Surg experience (at least 1 year) All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment. AHA CPR required before first day of employmentWhat we need from you.Must hold current registered nurse (RN) licensure to practice in Maryland at the time of appointment and maintain licensure throughout the duration of employment.Candidates residing in a compact state may apply with a multistate license and must obtain a Maryland RN license within 60 days of relocation.Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting is preferred, but not necessary.At Sheppard Pratt, you will work alongside a multi-disciplined team led by a bold vision to change lives.
