Controller – Manufacturing Company ($100M Revenue)Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a growing $100M manufacturing company. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, cost accounting, inventory management, and production cost analysis. This role requires a strong manufacturing background with deep expertise in standard costing, inventory controls, production variances, and operational finance.The ideal candidate is a strategic business partner who can provide financial insight to support operational efficiency, profitability improvement, and scalable growth.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & ReportingOversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and treasury functions.Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.Coordinate annual audits and serve as primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and financial risk management.Manufacturing & Cost AccountingLead all cost accounting activities within a manufacturing environment.Maintain and improve standard costing systems and methodologies.Analyze production costs, labor variances, material usage, scrap, overhead absorption, and manufacturing efficiencies.Partner closely with operations and plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve gross margins.Monitor inventory valuation, inventory reserves, and cycle count accuracy.Ensure accurate inventory accounting including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.Review BOMs (Bills of Materials), routing structures, and manufacturing variances for accuracy and operational insight.Drive financial analysis related to inventory turns, production throughput, and operational KPIs.Budgeting, Forecasting & AnalysisLead annual budgeting and forecasting processes across departments.Develop financial models and operational reporting tools to support decision-making.Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to executive leadership.Create dashboards and KPIs focused on manufacturing performance, inventory management, and profitability.Team LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.Establish a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.Improve accounting systems, reporting processes, and workflow efficiencies.QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA strongly preferred.8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.Strong manufacturing industry experience in a company of approximately $100M+ in revenue.Deep expertise in:Cost accountingStandard costingProduction cost analysisInventory accounting and controlsManufacturing variance analysisERP systems within manufacturing environmentsStrong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.PreferredExperience with multi-site manufacturing operations.Experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems.Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and operational teams.Key CompetenciesManufacturing finance expertiseCost accounting leadershipInventory management and controlsOperational partnershipStrategic financial planningProcess improvement mindsetTeam development and leadership
