POSITION TITLE: HOUSING SUPERVISOR REPORTS TO: Director of Housing (DH) SUPERVISES: Housing Specialists; Housing Financial Specialist POSITION SUMMARY: This position oversees scattered-site housing services and serves as a key member of the management and housing teams. The Housing Supervisor provides leadership and direction to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with strength-based clinical practice and Housing First. This position trains, supports, and evaluates housing staff, in conjunction with housing Team Lead and Director of Housing. The Housing Supervisor builds and maintains positive working relationships with community and state partners, and focuses the housing team on the overarching goals of housing stability and increased independence. RESPONSIBILITIES: Hire, train and supervise housing staff, including regular individual/group supervision and quarterly/annual performance evaluations. Facilitate effective communication within the department Support and assist housing staff in developing and growing their skills, interventions, and techniques. Engage with clients and landlords in support of housing staff, including case coverage, clinical problem solving, and Housing Quality Standards inspections. Interact effectively with Coordinated Entry and demonstrate commitment to Harm Reduction/Housing First models of housing retention. Facilitate annual monitoring processes with Strategies to End Homelessness and Ohio Dept of Health. Represent the agency in community, such as workgroups and program/service presentations. Represent departmental goals and priorities in agency-wide meetings. Determine and monitor program outcomes in collaboration with DH. Develop and implement housing policies and procedures in collaboration with DH; assist staff in learning and adapting to changes in procedure and practice. Facilitate Continuous Quality Improvement activities. Assure maintenance of all records and statistics needed for management and grant requirements. Ensure completion and timely submission of required reports. Develop and revise documentation systems as needed to improve client services and promote efficiency in collaboration with DH. Identify and document gaps in services, and participate in developing strategies to resolve them. Assure that the mission of Caracole is evident in planning & operation of all client services. Identify and pursue educational opportunities to promote professional growth. Complete other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelors degree in social work or a related field with a minimum of six months experience in a social service setting. LSW or LISW preferred. Must also have at least one year of managerial and/or supervisory experience, including planning and program implementation. Demonstrated experience with homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance use. Must possess knowledge about a range service networks with a strong commitment to collaboration. Proven ability to work harmoniously with ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse groups of individuals. REQUIRED SKILLS: Ability to maintain confidentiality in verbal, print, and electronic communications. Advanced computer and keyboarding skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Read, write, speak and understand English with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Sensitivity to persons living with chronic disease (HIV/AIDS and/or addiction) and co-existing social, mental and physical conditions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position includes time spent working in office, remote at home, and in the community. Work is generally 9-5 M-F. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position for multiple hours. Must operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a phone and copy machine. Must have the ability to accurately communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to move throughout the building and other sites in the community. Some site visits may involve stairs. Employee must have reliable transportation and ability to drive to other sites and meetings as needed. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. SALARY: This position is full time, salary (exempt): $67,500 annually.
