Interior Designer III

As an Interior Designer III, you’ll lead the design and execution of interior environments across all phases of a project—from early programming through construction—while maintaining design integrity, technical quality, and regulatory compliance.This role is ideal for an experienced designer ready to take ownership of complex projects, guide junior staff, and contribute to the continued advancement of SMRT’s interiors practice.What You’ll DoLead interior design efforts from concept through construction documentationServe as lead interior designer on complex projects with minimal oversightConduct programming interviews and client visioning sessionsDevelop comprehensive interior design concepts, including space planning, finishes, FF&E, and branding integrationOversee the preparation of drawings, specifications, renderings, and FF&E packagesCoordinate closely with architectural teams, engineers, consultants, and vendorsReview and approve shop drawings, submittals, and specificationsParticipate in and lead client meetings, clearly presenting design rationale and solutionsConduct site visits to verify field conditions and evaluate design implementationSupport project budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning for interior scopesMentor junior designers through guidance, feedback, and knowledge sharingContribute to marketing and business development efforts, including proposals and visual contentIntegrate sustainable design principles and support LEED, WELL, or similar initiativesStay current with design trends, materials, and technologies while maintaining required continuing educationWhat Makes SMRT UniqueSMRT is built on collaboration, curiosity, and technical excellence.
