Process Engineer
Overview
In this Process Engineer role, you will optimize manufacturing processes to improve cost, quality, and delivery. You will work with cross-functional teams to qualify designs for manufacturability, implement process controls, and lead process improvements in a high-volume, regulated environment. You’ll oversee capital equipment, ECOs, and new technology transfers to boost in-house capabilities. This is a hands-on role that links engineering with production to drive measurable performance gains. You’ll contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence at Flex Milpitas.

ResponsibilitiesIdentify manufacturability of designs and processesDefine and implement robust process parameters and control methodologiesLead or participate in root-cause analysis for manufacturing issuesPlan, justify, and implement capital equipment for productionOversee new process equipment production and ECO introductionsSupport cycle time and process-improvement initiativesEvaluate engineered materials and apply statistical process researchDevelop and maintain process documentation and training for new technology transferInterface with production for new process implementation and transferProvide maintenance support and cost-improvement programsDrive safety, productivity, and throughput improvements
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering preferred)5+ years in a high-regulated, high-volume manufacturing environment (Medical, Aerospace)Experience supporting 24/5 productionExperience with screen printing, circuit etching, plating or similar processesAutoCAD, AutoCAD Inventor, Microsoft Access is a plusPLC troubleshooting experience is a plusLean and Six Sigma knowledge or willingness to certificationStrong operations, technical, and people skills, plus customer relationship skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; PowerPointstrong problem-solving and analytical abilitiescross-functional collaborationeffective communicationprocess engineeringstatistical process controlECO management
