This position ensures that all areas of the facility are free of obstacles, odors, and debris, contributing to the overall health and comfort of those in our care.Essential Duties* Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.* Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.* Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.* Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.* Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.* Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.* Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.* Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.* Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.* Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.* Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.* Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.* Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.* Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.Supervisory RequirementsThis position has no supervisory requirements.Qualification* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.* Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus.* Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.* Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.* Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manualsand directions.Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication andDivision.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formPhysical Demands* Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching* Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.* Repetitive motion tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping surfaces* Use of cleaning equipment and supplies throughout the shift* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to needsWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
