Oracle Database Administrator

e&e is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator for a remote contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PA!We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support a mission-critical Oracle 19c environment running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle RAC and ASM, along with experience in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and system monitoring. This role requires someone who can work independently while collaborating with technical teams to ensure database reliability, security, and performance.Responsibilities:Administer and maintain Oracle 19c databases in RAC and ASM environments.Manage backup and recovery processes using RMAN.Monitor database performance and perform tuning at the database and SQL level.Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts for monitoring and maintenance.Apply database patches and manage PSU/CPU updates.Use OEM, AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports for monitoring and diagnostics.Track issues, risks, and action items while providing status updates.Support database upgrades, releases, and ongoing operational improvements.Requirements:Strong experience with Oracle RAC and ASM administration.Deep knowledge of Oracle 19c architecture, including Pluggable Databases (PDBs).Experience with RMAN backup and recovery.Proficiency in Linux (RHEL) shell scripting.Experience with SQL/PLSQL scripting and performance tuning.Experience with patch management (PSU/CPU updates).Familiarity with OEM, AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports.Preferred:Experience with Oracle Data Guard.Knowledge of UDEV configuration for ASM devices.Exposure to cloud-based Oracle deployments.Experience with database automation tools.
