Revenue Cycle DirectorSalary Range $160,000.00 - $190,000.00 Salary/year Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level 4 Year Degree Category AccountingDescriptionWork Schedule: Monday- Friday: 9am - 5pmCompensation: 160K - 190KPosition Overview:The Revenue Cycle Director is a senior, strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the full revenue cycle for Ryan Health. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role provides enterprise-wide leadership for billing, coding, collections, payer relations, and revenue optimization across multiple sites and service lines. The Director partners closely with clinical services, operations, IT, and compliance leaders to ensure financial sustainability while supporting Ryan Health's mission.Essential Functions:Maintain, analyze, and report on key revenue metrics and departmental and payer revenue performance indicators, proactively communicating and solving revenue-related issues; identify trends for further review.Serve as a liaison between the CFO, Finance Department, and clinical departments on billing and revenue cycle matters. Collaborate with Clinical Operations and IT to improve documentation, workflows, and EHR utilization.Establish and implement annual goals/performance standards for all billing functions that align with Ryan Health's vision and business goals; identify external benchmarks and provide analysis for improving performance and goals.Prepare detailed analyses/reports of billing and accounts receivable activity and results, including performance matrices, bad debt expense, denials management and AR days outstanding. Review and analyze aging reports on a monthly basis; assist in receivables process accordingly. Distribute aging reports to staff for follow-up on billing activities.Direct staff to ensure that accurate submission of all claims and timely collections occur in accordance with established internal and third-party payer requirements and in compliance with established policies, regulations, procedures, and standards.Assure maximization of cash collections through diligent and timely monitoring of all open accounts receivable balances.Manage all billing operations, including hiring, orientation, training, development, coaching, corrective actions, and ongoing monitoring of all staff work-related activities. Attend leadership and provider meetings.Establish collaborative relationships with Medicare managed care organizations and insurance companies to solve problems and improve reimbursements.Maintain accurate ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT codes and keep abreast of updates and changes to ensure proper medical coding and billing procedures.Provide or facilitate training for billing or other personnel who impact revenue cycle.Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA, and The Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organization standards.Perform other related duties, which may be inclusive, but not listed in the job description.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, business, or related field (Master's desirable) OR Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Strong understanding of payer contracting, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory compliance (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers).Technical & Functional SkillsExpertise in end-to-end revenue cycle processes: patient access, charge capture, coding, billing, collections, and denial management.Proficiency with healthcare billing systems (e.g., eCW, Epic, etc.) and data analytics tools.Knowledge of HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and state-specific regulations.Leadership & ManagementProven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.Experience in process improvement initiativesStrong financial acumen with ability to analyze KPIs, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.Communication & CollaborationExcellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with clinical, operational, and executive leadership.Ability to present complex financial and operational data in a clear, actionable manner.Strategic & Operational CompetenciesTrack record of driving revenue optimization and reducing denials.Ability to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.Skilled in vendor management and contract negotiations.Minimal Training Time:180-day probationary period.Working Conditions:Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
