We have an exciting opportunity located in Poway, CA for a Senior Project Engineer to support the MQ‑9B SkyGuardian Global Support Solution team. You will work closely with program management teams to facilitate customer pursuits, identify requirements, develop sustainment plans and strategies, participate in proposal activities, and ultimately support program execution for MQ‑9B SkyGuardian / SeaGuardian UAS.
With consultative direction, this position is responsible for determining technical objectives as a key member of the MQ‑9B SkyGuardian Global Support Solution team and coordinating technical aspects of MQ‑9B Sustainment. The role requires interfacing with international customers, foreign vendors, internal program stakeholders, and the USAF FMS program office.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support the execution of plans and guide the implementation of engineering solutions, including deployment, resource requirements, testing, documentation, integration, compliance, and safety.
Maintain sustainment configurations for MQ‑9B customers and support material management and logistics teams through the system life cycle for material sustainment.
Monitor and respond to changes in configuration baselines in support of life‑cycle material sustainment.
Coordinate with cross‑functional engineering teams to execute software development, testing, and fielding.
Support proposal development and sustainment program stand‑up.
May represent the organization as a technical contact within an engineering team for assigned project(s)/program(s).
Act as a trusted liaison leading teams of communications and sensor payload SMEs.
Determine annual and multi‑year technical objectives for designated engineering systems or project(s)/program(s).
Present technical presentations and participate in internal and external technical working groups.
Support the implementation of IRAD activity‑developed solutions and new developments onto fielded customer assets.
Travel up to 15% is required to attend meetings in the US and OCONUS.
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ensure compliance, reporting, and safety standards are maintained.
Observe all applicable laws, regulations, and obligations wherever business is conducted on behalf of the company.
Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Job Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution along with progressive engineering experience: six or more years of experience with a bachelor’s, four or more years with a master’s, or two or more years with a PhD. Equivalent engineering experience may substitute education.
Must have a thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and a continuous expansion of related technical knowledge.
Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts, apply them accurately in evolving environments, organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases, and determine appropriate approaches at task or project levels to solve complex problems.
Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.
Capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and leading a team of moderately experienced professionals on single‑component projects.
Able to work extended hours as required.
A professional engineering license and original work published in professional engineering journals are desirable.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.

Salary range: $98,100 – $171,398
