SummaryWe are partnering with a client seeking a Business Development Manager to build, refine, and own the company’s outbound business development function.This role goes beyond day-to-day outreach. The ideal candidate will design and implement scalable prospecting strategies, establish best practices, and drive consistent pipeline generation, while also personally engaging in outreach efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development Strategy & Process OwnershipDesign, implement, and continuously refine the company’s outbound business development strategyDevelop and optimize call scripts, messaging frameworks, and outreach sequencesEstablish lead qualification criteria and targeting strategiesIdentify and implement tools, workflows, and best practices to improve efficiency and conversion ratesOutbound Execution & Pipeline GenerationExecute high-volume outbound outreach (primarily phone-based) to prospective clientsIdentify key decision-makers and effectively position the company’s value propositionGenerate and qualify new business opportunities, consistently building a strong pipelineSchedule and coordinate introductory meetings for sales/advisory teamsPerformance Tracking & OptimizationTrack and analyze key metrics (call volume, conversion rates, meetings set, pipeline quality)Use data to continuously improve outreach strategies and team performanceReport on activity and outcomes, providing insights and recommendations to leadershipCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with sales and leadership to ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunitiesProvide detailed context and insights to improve close ratesShare feedback from the market to help refine positioning and messagingContinuous ImprovementIdentify gaps in current processes and proactively implement improvementsStay informed on industry trends and competitive positioningContribute to building a repeatable, scalable business development engineQualificationsBachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required3+ years of experience in business development, inside sales, or outbound salesComfortability and experience with communicating with senior executives and C-suiteProven experience building, improving, or owning outbound sales processesComfortable with high-volume phone outreach while maintaining quality conversationsStrong understanding of lead generation, qualification, and pipeline developmentExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior decision-makersHighly organized with strong time management and prioritization skillsAnalytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive improvementsExperience working with CRM systems and sales toolsTeam-oriented with a proactive, ownership-driven mindsetWhat Success Looks LikeA clearly defined and scalable business development processConsistent generation of qualified meetings and pipelineImproved conversion rates and outreach effectiveness over timeStrong collaboration with sales, leading to higher close rates
