a heavily funded defence-tech company — is hiring a Principal Python Engineer (Modeling & Simulation) in the US.They're building AI-assisted development infrastructure for mission-critical and edge environments, tackling complex problems across simulation, distributed systems, compilers and heterogeneous compute.
The role:
- Build and own complex production Python systems end-to-end
- Design scalable backend architectures across APIs, data models, queues and distributed workflows
- Work on modelling & simulation systems, ideally involving C++ and AFSIM or similar frameworks
- Solve performance, reliability and deployment challenges in real-world defence environments
- Work across AI-assisted development, simulation and complex software infrastructure
