Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in WSL’s financial reporting and drives key operational accounting processes. The Senior Accountant performs full-cycle month-end close and reporting duties for multiple subsidiaries, and they will interface directly with regional accounting resources. Reporting directly into the Controller, the Senior Accountant must possess a solid understanding of GAAP and will be instrumental in improving and documenting processes to support growth in WSL’s business. This role will partner with key business owners to drive timely and accurate financial reporting.Responsibilities Include (but Not Limited To)Support the global revenue process through analysis of contracts based on ASC 606, recording of revenueManage the sales and collection process by coordinating with Partnerships and Legal, ensuring invoices are in line with contracted payment terms and maintaining detailed cashflow projectionsRecord journal entries for both balance sheet and P&L accounts to account for day-to-day activities as well as part of the month end close and complete related account reconciliations for both headquarters and regional officesGenerate management-ready balance sheet and P&L reports and other ad hoc financial reportsAct as liaison between the Digital and Finance department to ensure proper accounting in accordance with ASC 350 for capitalized softwareReview regional subsidiary results and intercompany and related party transactions, and generate allocation journal entries between subsidiariesAssist with various tax and compliance filings for the company and its subsidiariesAssist with accounting for WSL’s not-for-profit entity and related filingsParticipate in the ongoing development, improvement and documentation of accounting policies and proceduresProvide support for external financial statement audits and contribute to the overall financial statement consolidation processIdentify and drive process improvement and automation initiatives and handle special projects as neededQualificationsA minimum of 3 years of experience; Sports, Media & Entertainment a plusBA / BS Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance requiredStrong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting, including process improvement and accounting / finance best practicesAdvanced proficiency in Excel (XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, PIVOT tables) and ability to handle large data setsContract review and revenue recognition (ASC 606) experience a plusExperience in the following is a plus: NetSuite ERP, Concur, Google Suite of Products, 1099 ProPublic accounting experience highly preferredCPA license / track highly preferredPersonal AttributesAbove all, integrity and honestyExceptional attention to detail and masterful organizational skillsEntrepreneurial: willingness to work independently with the best business practices in mind along with an open and collaborative natureIntellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for learningAction-oriented: enjoys working hard and looks for challenges; able to act and react as necessary, even if limited information is availableDiversity creates a healthier atmosphere: equal opportunity employer M/F/D/VSalary Range: $100,000.00-$115,000.00 based on relevant experience
