The optimal candidate will have a basic working knowledge of construction site OSHA safety guidelines. Abrasive blast and paint/coatings to piping, structural steel, vessels, tanks (internal/external). Working knowledge of coatings application work. Operate various power tools in accordance with company safety policies. Prepare, operate, and inspect blast pots and spray pots and pumps. Ensure enough onsite material is available for the day's operation. Understand and adhere to company safety policies and procedures. Recognize company goals and maintain a safe culture. Maintain all personal training certifications. Correspond and verbally communicate in a professional manner with customers. Previous blast and paint experience on tanks (internal and external), vessels, piping, and structural steel. Familiar with the operating and safety procedures for plural component spray units, airless spray pumps, and conventional spray pots. Strong team and customer service. Must not have been working with another sub-contractor in the facility within the last 2 years. Must not have been working directly with Kiewit within the last 5 years. Must know how to blast a white to near-white blast. Must have experience spraying zinc from a conventional paint pot. Must pass a written Kiewit-provided test. Must pass a hands-on test. Must have valid government-issued identification. Must pass UA drug test. Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift. Frequent climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling and twisting. Must be able to wear a full-face respirator or blast hood for extended periods. May be required to work in extremely tight spaces or on elevated platforms. Must be willing to work in remote locations for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds often and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
