Web Content Analyst
We are seeking a skilled Web Content Analyst to provide IT Accessibility and Section 508 compliance services to support the Department of Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The Web Content Analyst will be instrumental in sustaining and improving our web presence across diverse platforms, with a strong focus on ensuring all content meets accessibility standards.
Position Location: Hybrid. Telework and onsite in Washington D.C.
Salary Range: 70k-90k
Key Responsibilities/Requirements:
Manage websites, edit websites, research websites, and curate content for various web, mobile, and other platforms.
Ensure that all new content meets accessibility standards.
Ensure content is engaging, informative, and tailored to target audiences.
Assess the current processes, work environment, and organizational structure of the IT components that support the remediation of work products.
Makes design, information architecture, and content organization recommendations for websites and applications, ensures compliance with IRS standards, and provides IRS intranet web design and refresh recommendations.
Review existing web content, documents, and multimedia for accessibility compliance.
Conduct automated and manual accessibility testing.
Collaborate with content owners and developers to remediate identified issues.
Maintain document libraries.
Provide 508 remediation.
Conduct audits to identify and remediate accessibility issues.
Ensure all web content complies with Section 508 accessibility standards.
Work with developers and designers to implement accessibility best practices.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as web Design, IT, Communications, or journalism.
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience managing, editing, researching, and curating websites, mobile, and other platforms.
Proficiency in accessibility remediation.
Experience supporting Federal government customers or working in a government environment.
Working knowledge of Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience working in a government contracting environment.
DHS Trusted Tester Certification
Working knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
IAAP CPACC or WEB Accessibility Specialist (WAS) certification a plus
Experience using Axe DevTools, ANDI, Axes PDF, CommonLook, and PAC 2021 accessibility checkers.
Experience with accessible PDF forms.
Experience with Web Development or UI.
Familiarity with mobile application accessibility.
Experience with creating captioning and audio descriptions.
