As a special education teacher there, you would have the opportunity to make a significant impact on students’ lives by providing individualized instruction and support.Here are some key highlights of the role and program:Daily Instruction: You’ll teach students in grades K-8 across 8 class periods of 40 minutes each, with support from therapeutic staff.Comprehensive Support: You’ll have access to unit therapists, intervention therapists, leads, and the director of academics for support.Technology Integration: The program encourages the use of student laptops, smartboards, and Google Classroom to enhance learning.Professional Development: The teacher contract includes time for preparation and training, and teachers enjoy summers off.Certification Opportunities: If you have a regular education certification, CRCSI can help you obtain a special education certification with a signed employment agreement.Loan Forgiveness: CRCSI qualifies as a low-income educational service agency for the Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program.To qualify, you’ll need a bachelor’s or higher degree in Special Education or a related field, a valid teaching credential or eligibility for certification in Special Education, and strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Compassion and dedication to meeting the unique needs of students with special needs are also essential.Additionally, you’ll need to provide FBI clearance, PA State Criminal Clearance, and PA Child Abuse Clearance.
