Responsibilities/Job Description:Fairview is seeking a Casual General Surgery Physician Assistant to join the General Surgery team at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This is a casual position and will work on an as need basis to help cover leave of absences on the core team. In this role, you will work closely with a well-established community General Surgery group and an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers (APP), caring for patients with a diverse range of general, breast, surgical oncology, reflux, abdominal wall reconstruction, colon surgery and bariatric disorders.Practice Details:Surgical patient care for a wide variety of conditions such as breast, oncologic, colon, foregut, complex hernia, endocrine, and bariatric in addition to general surgeryInpatient care including: Admissions and consults, daily rounding, operative assist, and discharge planning and educationProvide first assist in the operating roomCasual (as needed) schedulingDaytime hours: Monday Friday 7:30 AM 4:00 PMAdditional weekend shift opportunities availableCommunity Information:M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital | M Health Fairview.
