Head of Learn-to-Swim
ROLE SUMMARY
The Head of Learn-to-Swim is a critical leadership position for Swimming Simply. This position will be responsible for our Swim Otters pool and Learn-to-Swim program at that location, as well as our Learn-to-Swim training and performance management for instructors across Swimming Simply.
PRIMARY WORK LOCATION
Swim Otters: 3974 Youngfield Plaza, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033
SECONDARY WORK LOCATIONS
Aurora Central High School, West High School, Adams City High School, Others as required
REQUIRED HOURS
Evening and weekend hours required. Additional hours will likely be required depending on the needs of the Swim Otters pool. Schedule might change or different hours may be required as this position institutes Learn-to-Swim Training plan across Swimming Simply.
Hours will evolve based on the leader in the position and needs of the company.
● Tuesday through Friday:
○ Wednesday at West High School from 5-8pm (through mid-October only) ○ When not working Saturdays: 8:15am-7pm - Manager on Duty at Swim Otters.
■ This will evolve based on company-wide training schedule
● Saturdays (every week to start, every other week in future): 8-4pm - Manager on Duty at Swim Otters and/or running trainings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Manage Swim Otters Site / Pool / Operations
○ General Maintenance
○ Oversee cleanliness and appearance of facility
○ Building and pool supplies and all retail inventory
○ CPO Duties, such as:
■ Pump room excellence
■ Documentation of all incidents
■ Management of all equipment
● Manage Swim Otters Staff
○ Manage Assistant General Managers, Swim Otters Program Manager and others Swim Otters employees
○ Schedule and conduct regular check-ins and meetings with supervisees ○ Partnering with Swimming Simply Chief of Staff, ensure staffing coverage for full Swim Otters Schedule, including subs
○ Ensure Swim Otters staff is trained and evaluated effectively
○ Foster an inclusive and fun culture
● Accountable for Swim Otters performance, including:
○ Net Promoter Score (NPS)
○ Pool utilization
○ Margin
○ Budget
● Train Swimming Simply Swim Teachers, in collaboration with Swim Otters Program Manager ○ Support development of curriculum and training for learn-to-swim programming across all of Swimming Simply
○ Create & administer training program for all new Learn-to-Swim instructors across all of Swimming Simply
○ Support with performance management of all Learn-to-Swim instructors ○ Support the Swim Otters Program Manager to ensure all swimmers receive quality instruction and are on-track
● Customer Service / Enrollments
○ Billing of families
○ Customer service excellence (both individually and support of staff)
○ Resolve any customer service escalations
○ Enroll swimmers, in partnership with the Director of Sales
● Coordinate Innovative Swimming Simply Programming
○ Partnership relationship management
○ Respond to program inquires and sales/enrollments
○ Billing swimmers
○ Customer service excellence (both individually and support of staff)
○ Resolve any customer service escalations
○ Support development of curriculum as needed
○ Report on program metrics
○ Grow program(s) and its position/offerings in market
● Head of Safety Protocols
○ Develop, write and implement safety protocols and training on protocols for all Swimming Simply operations
○ Ensure that compliance to safety standards is maintained
● Substitute teach swim lessons as needed
● Attend staff meetings
● Run Swim Otters Staff Meetings
● Communicate important information to Swimming Simply swimmers, and parents ● Represent Swimming Simply at events or in public
● Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
● Bachelor’s degree
● 10+ years of teaching / coaching experience
● 5+ years experience of managing a swim school or equivalent
○ Must have experience with general maintenance of swim school and pool (e.g., HVAC, pool cleaning, general building maintenance)
● 5+ years experience training swim instructors in effective learn-to-swim programming ● A demonstrated track record of developing swimmers to their fullest potential ● A deep commitment to serving all swimmers, regardless of background or ability ● Desire to high-five and encourage all swimmers
● Ability and interest to use iClass and Salesforce as tools
● Lifeguarding/First Aid & CPR/AED certifications
● Ability to obtain a Certified Pool Operator License, as well as an LGI certification ● Driver’s license
● Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight
● Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This a salaried and exempt position.
$65,000 / year
$1,000 signing bonus upon 90 days of employment
● PTO:
○ First 6 months: 1 hour accrued for every 30 hours worked
○ After 6 months of employment: Unlimited PTO

Swimming Simply was started by a passionate swimmer and mother in the Denver area who noticed a gap in swim offerings. While there were plenty of opportunities in her area for young children to learn to swim and a few very competitive swim teams for school-age children there was very little offered for kids who can swim but need support with stroke development and an opportunity to learn to love the water. In addition, there was next to nothing available for adults learning to swim or looking for year round swim exercise programs. Swimming Simply was born to help fill these gaps
and offer programming for children and adults who were ready to take their swimming abilities to the next level.
