Commercial Roofing Safety Technician

We are committed to team building and recognize that teamwork enables us to provide the best possible service and we are dedicated to providing a quality product, and 100% customer satisfaction.Pay: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 per yearESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):Maintain all required safety records and filesBe able and willing to travelReport any unsafe conditions to the safety directorAssist field and staff management to understand OSHA regulations and standards, including guidance on handling OSHA compliance, inspections, and citationsGuide and promote safe work performance by assisting in developing safety systems, policies, and procedures; developing safety campaigns, communications, and recognitionsTraining managers and employees in environmental, health, and safety topicsInvestigate all injuries in conjunction with field management. Notify top management of pertinent detailsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending appropriate training, educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societiesConduct job site safety inspections, make recommendations for improvementEvaluate hazardous conditions and practices, and assist in developing hazard control practices and programsAssist in communicating hazard control information and evaluate the effectiveness of the controlGuides and assists field, office and warehouse personnel with critical safety and health problemsOverviews company accident statistics and makes recommendations for correction of problem areasWorks with trade and professional organizations to promote goals and objectives in the health and safety area that affect the company's businessAssess new developments in the health and safety field that may have application to the company's operationsEstablish target areas and long-range accident prevention and cost-control objectivesKeep apprised of federal and state safety laws likely to affect the companyActs as company representative in dealing with government agencies on safety and health matters affecting the companyMay be required to assist with cost control efforts, participate in safety committees, and the likePrepare and coordinate monthly safety meetingsAttend weekly job meetings to keep apprised of new job sites and address issues with current sitesAssist in coordinating weekly tool box talksPrepare Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) documents as requiredAssisting in overall activity and success of environmental, health, and safety programsAny additional safety duties assigned by Safety DirectorSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: As directed by ManagementRequirementsQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:High School Diploma or GED plus three years in a commercial roofing environmentValid driver's licenseConsiderable knowledge of OSHA Standards as they pertain to construction and roofingConsiderable knowledge of various commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation methodsGood knowledge of Federal, State and local environmental, health and safety codesSome knowledge of: construction site development; commercial construction, demolition, and remodel proceduresAbility to read, analyze, and interpret, in English, and comprehend drawings and specifications, documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Strong verbal skills and ability to interact with all level of employees and managementAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to compute rate, ratioREASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
