We're hands-on, we take pride in doing the work right, and we're looking for people who want to build something real and local and grow with us for the long term.About the RoleWe are hiring a Sales Leader to lead, manage, and organize Edge Broadband’s door-to-door sales team. This is the person who owns the day-to-day performance of our reps in the field: recruiting and onboarding new hires, training them on the product and the pitch, setting daily and weekly targets, running ride-alongs, coaching in real time, and making sure every rep knows what good looks like and how to get there. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a corner-office role. You’ll spend real time in neighborhoods alongside your team.We're building fiber aggressively, which means every week brings new neighborhoods to sell into. Your job is to make sure we have the right people, the right systems, and the right execution to convert that opportunity into customers.This role is for someone who has built and run a direct sales team before, ideally selling something that requires real discipline to sell, not something that sells itself. Think home services, telecom, alarm, solar, pest, roofing, or similar backgrounds. If your sales experience is inbound leads from a hot SaaS pipeline, this is probably not the right fit.This role is based in our Southern Wisconsin or Northern Illinois service territory, with regular time in the field across the markets we serve.What You'll DoRecruit, hire, and onboard door-to-door sales representatives across Edge's expanding footprintBuild and run a structured training program covering product knowledge, pitch, objection handling, and close techniqueSet weekly and monthly quotas, track performance daily, and hold the team accountable to the numbersRun daily huddles, weekly one-on-ones, and regular ride-alongs to coach reps in the fieldDesign and manage commission plans, spiffs, contests, and performance incentivesPlan and assign territories in coordination with the construction and marketing teams to align sales push with fiber releasesOwn the CRM: ensure every door knocked, lead generated, and sale closed is tracked accuratelyReport on pipeline, close rates, rep performance, and cost-of-acquisition to the President and leadership teamPartner with marketing on neighborhood launches, promotions, collateral, and campaign effectivenessIdentify and promote top performers into senior rep and team lead roles as the organization scalesManage sales team budget, spend, and operational disciplineWho You AreExperience leading a direct sales team and scaling it as the company growsNumbers-driven: you live in the pipeline report, you know your close rates cold, and you make decisions based on dataOrganized and disciplined: you run a tight ship, set expectations clearly, and follow throughA hands-on coach: you're in the field with your reps, not hiding behind a deskResilient: you've sold things that were hard to sell and you know how to keep a team motivated through the grindValues-driven: you care about doing things the right way, and you hire people who do tooWhat You'll BringRequired:5+ years of direct sales experience, with at least 2+ years in a sales management or leadership roleDemonstrated track record of hitting and exceeding quota, both personally and as a managerExperience recruiting, training, and managing a team of at least 5 repsExperience selling a product that requires discipline, follow-up, and resilience (home services, telecom, direct-to-consumer, alarm, solar, pest, roofing, mattress, or similar)Strong command of CRM tools and sales reportingValid driver's license and willingness to spend significant time in the fieldAuthorization to work in the United StatesPreferred:Prior experience running a door-to-door or direct-to-consumer sales teamBackground in telecom, ISP, or home services salesExperience designing commission plans and sales incentive structuresMission, military, or other background involving discipline and managing through adversityBachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceCompensationBase salary commensurate with experienceUncapped commission and performance bonuses tied to team quota attainment, install volume, and growth metricsTop performers expected to earn six figuresBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid life and disability coverage401(k) with employer matchPaid time off and paid holidaysMileage reimbursement or company-provided vehicle and equipmentWhy Join UsBuild something real: this is a chance to stand up and scale a sales organization inside a fast-growing fiber company, not inherit a playbookCompelling product: Edge’s fiber is the best product in most of our markets, dramatically faster and more reliable than the incumbentsMassive runway: every mile of new fiber is a new neighborhood to sell into.
