Occupational Health Nurse: Clearance Review

Examinetics is looking for a detail-oriented and passionate individual to join our team as an Occupational Health Nurse in clearance review! This position will be located at out corporate office in Overland Park, KS. This individual will be responsible for reviewing self-reported medical histories, exam results, and medical findings in accordance with applicable regulatory standards and specific client protocols as well as verifying proper clearance decisions and conducting follow up calls with participants. Come join our rapidly growing company and work with the best!Why you will love working at Examinetics as an Occupational Health NurseCompetitive SalaryMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance401K matching3 weeks Paid Time OffAnnual Company BonusPrimary Responsibilities:Review computer-generated clearances and review medical records to verify that appropriate clearance decisions have been reached.Determine clearance decisions based on review of medical history questionnaire responses.Identify cases requiring escalation and refer to the Director of Medical Services, Medical Director, or other designee as appropriate.Coordinate closely with the Data Processing staff to monitor and ensure that clearance reporting turnaround time (TAT) requirements are met consistently.Conduct quality control review of FMCSA Certified Medical Examiner generated DOT certificates to ensure compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration/Department of Transportation guidelines.Generate clearance determinations and related documentation in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).Document findings clearly, accurately and completely in participant's records using standard medical documentation practices.Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state regulatory clearance standards, including but not limited to OSHA, Cal/OSHA, FMCSA, and NFPA requirements. Including:OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29CFR1910.134)CalOSHA Resp Protection Standard (Title8, CCR 5144)OSHA HAZWOPER Standard (29CFR1910.120)OSHA Asbestos Standard (29CFR1910.1001)OSHA Lead Standard (29CFR1910.1025)OSHA Silica Standard (29CFR 1910.1053 and 1926.1153)OSHA Hexavalent Chromium Standard (29 CFR 1910. 1026)All other standards related to Examinetics medical surveillance servicesNFPA Standard (1582)Respond promptly, professionally and courteously to customer requests, inquiries or complaints, and complete required follow-up in a timely manner.Ensure client-specific protocols are followed accurately.Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and client service when appropriate.Maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and all related records.Maintain awareness of onsite schedules to anticipate the needs of technicians who are supporting after-hours services and help ensure successful testing experiences.Qualifications:Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing.Familiarity with medical/health testing data and prior experience in a production environment is highly desirable. Occupational health background highly desired.Licensed Registered Nurse. Must have current, active nursing license in KS or MO at a minimum, or from a state that participates in the Nursing Licensure Compact Agreement.Practical Occupational health experience, especially experience working with OSHA, MSHA, NFPA, Respiratory Protection and other workplace exposure-related standards is desired.Ability to learn new technology systems as needed.Working knowledge of current OSHA and other federal and state medical surveillance and testing requirements.Knowledge of current occupational health and safety training requirements, from both a programmatic and training delivery perspective.Ability to evaluate current work conditions and practices for compliance with OSHA workplace safety requirements.Ability to review client work practices and make recommendations to Director of Medical Services for increased effectiveness.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with a multitude of internal and external teams to ensure clear and effective communication.About ExamineticsExaminetics is the leading Workforce Health provider, serving clients nationwide.
