$15,000 Sign on bonusFULL-TIME EVENINGSThe Radiology Tech performs basic to complex diagnostic radiographic procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. The Radiology Tech exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, applying x-ray energy, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. The Radiology tech is multi-skilled in the use of O.R. procedures and equipment. General Functions:Produces high quality diagnostic radiographs, by selecting and operating appropriate radiographic equipment, operating room protocols, c-arm use and advanced diagnostic procedures Practices aseptic techniques as necessary, understands methods of venipuncture and other sterile techniques, in agreement with state statues and./or where institutional policy permits, prepares, identifies and/or administers contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner Rotates through advanced areas of diagnostic radiology to include procedures in O.R Urography room, open reductions, myelography, arthrography, placements and traumaEvaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification and procedure is recordedAssists practitioner with fluoroscopy, arthrography, O.R. procedures and traumaProvides communication to patients for instructions and history in order to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxietyAssumes responsibility for provision of physical safety and psychological needs of the patient during proceduresPositions patients to best demonstrate anatomical areas of interest as requested respecting patients' ability, comfort and safety. Checks to ask about pregnancy and LMPImplements protective measures to prevent patient injury due to thermal. Electrical, mechanical, laser, chemical and radiation sourcesProvides practical instruction, evaluation and precepting for students and/or other healthcare professionalsAssumes responsibility for assigned areas, quality control of equipment and reports equipment malfunctionAssures environment of working area, equipment and accessories are kept neat and clean Initiates anecdotal, incident, contrast agent variance and accident reports in a timely mannerPerforms related duties such as transporting patients, film processing and film filing as neededUtilizes resources efficiently and effectivelyMaintains safe environmentAddresses patient population-specific needsParticipates in Performance Improvement activitiesBaptist Medical Center Hospital is committed to providing exceptional patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associate degree REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license. Possession of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, in Radiography or registry eligible. Must have ARRT within one year post graduation of accredited school.
