Metrea Management provides central services to eleven (11) global capability units via Operations, Solutions, Strategy, Legal, and Finance teams.Capability Unit Metrea Algorithmics (MAX) provides unique engineering services, cloud-based cyber operations infrastructure, advanced tactics, techniques and procedures training, and a full suite of wireless communications survey and reconnaissance sensors that enable real-time multi-domain awareness while enhancing command and control.Position SummaryAs the Telecommunication Technician the role analyzes complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems. Resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across host, hypervisor, and guest nodes.Role And ResponsibilitiesThe Telecommunication Technician role will load and configure cloud servers and vendor (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) or white box routers and switches. The role will also support the acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services.Acting as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed is also required. Skills And ExperienceExperience: 8 years of experience with providing technical support for the engineering and testing of complex software and hardware systems in the communication field Experience with network planning for telecommunications switches Experience with conducting integration and system level testing of telecommunications systems or platforms Experience with KubernetesExperience with Cisco, Juniper or equivalent networking equipmentExperience with VMWare, QEMU, KVM, or DockerExperience with Linux or OpenStackKnowledge of telephony and telecommunication Knowledge of networking servicesKnowledge of software defined networkingHands-on work experience with the installation, provisioning, maintenance, operation and testing of 5 or more of the following equipment types: PBX, landline, GSM, GPRS, UMTS, LTE softswitch, SDH, ATM, routers, switches, and Network Management SystemsWorking knowledge of signaling protocols such as SS7, CCITT #5, and R2Experience with telecommunications and network analysis, performance, and communications tools (for example: HP, W&G, Tekelec, Firebird, Nethawk)Experience with conducting integration and system level testing of telecommunications systems or platformsCisco CCNA or equivalent requiredRHCSA preferredEducation: HS diploma or GEDOur Culture Metrea’s single core value “rooted in humility” is supported by four key attributes; entrepreneurial, systematic, discerning & over-deliver which combined; form our Teammate Firmware, our culture.
