We currently have more than ninety Physics, Photonics and Optical Engineering Majors, a handful of Physics Minors and fifteen Master of Arts in Physical Science students. Our commitment is reflected in our institutional values, which ensure that all students are supported and succeed.Essential DutiesThe Department of Physics at Bridgewater State University seeks qualified Part Time Faculty for the 2026/2027 academic year, who are enthusiastic teachers and dedicated to working with undergraduates.Candidates Mustdemonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of students from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of abilities.Utilize an equity- minded framework to prepare lesson plans which incorporate varied instructional techniques, multi-media, integration strategies designed to meet the educational, culturally relevant, and emotional needs of our students.Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning. Encourage student success to all students regardless of race.Specific course offerings for which Part Time Faculty are requested include general algebra-based physics I and II, astronomy for non-majors, physical science for students majoring in elementary education, as well as upper-level courses for physics and engineering majors.Required QualificationsMasters Degree in Physics, Engineering or related field.Preferred QualificationsTeaching experience preferred.Special Conditions for EligibilityPlease be aware that employment at Bridgewater State University is contingent upon completion of a successful background check.
