School Bus Attendant

BITL Transportation located in Southfield provides customer-focused transportation services including home-to-school, field trip transportation, day care transportation,summer camp and charter trips for school boards and organizations. Responsibilities: - Ensure the safety and well-being of students while on the bus - Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus - Maintain order and discipline among students during the bus ride - Communicate with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding any concerns or issues - Provide support to students with special needs or behavioral challenges - Monitor student behavior and address any conflicts that may arise - Collaborate with the bus driver to ensure a smooth and efficient transportation process - Follow all safety protocols and procedures during bus rides Qualifications: - Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting - Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies - Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff - Familiarity with special education practices and accommodations - First aid certification is preferred but not required - Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
