Job Description\n\nLead HVAC Estimator\nDepartment: Preconstruction / EstimatingReports To: VP of Operations or Preconstruction ManagerLocation: Nashville, TN\n \nPosition Summary:\n \nThe Lead HVAC Estimator is responsible for overseeing the estimating process for commercial mechanical projects, including HVAC systems, piping, and related mechanical scopes. This role leads the estimating team, develops competitive and accurate bids, and works closely with project management, operations, and executive leadership to secure profitable projects.\nThe Lead HVAC Estimator ensures all estimates align with company standards, market conditions, and project requirements while supporting business growth and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nEstimating Leadership\n\nLead and coordinate the estimating team for commercial HVAC projects.\nReview and assign bid opportunities to estimators.\nEstablish estimating strategies and procedures.\nEnsure consistency and accuracy in all estimates.\n\nProject Estimating\n\nPrepare detailed cost estimates for commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.\nPerform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and bid documents.\nAnalyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.\nSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.\n\nBid Management\n\nReview project specifications and drawings to determine scope.\nLead bid reviews and risk assessments.\nPrepare bid proposals and scope clarifications.\nEnsure estimates meet company profit margin targets.\n\nCollaboration\n\nWork with project managers and operations during preconstruction.\nParticipate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.\nAssist with project handoff to the project management team after award.\n\nVendor and Subcontractor Relations\n\nDevelop relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.\nNegotiate pricing and scope.\nMaintain updated pricing databases.\n\nProcess Improvement\n\nTrack bid results and performance metrics.\nImprove estimating accuracy and procedures.\nMaintain historical cost databases.\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n\n\n\n\n5–10+ years of commercial HVAC estimating experience\nExperience estimating mechanical systems, HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls\nStrong understanding of commercial construction documents\nExperience with estimating software and takeoff tools ( Quote Soft is a +}\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n·\nJob Type: Full-time\nSalary: $75-110K depending on experience\n \nLocation- Nashville TNEqual Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
