Basic Function:
The Controller manages finance, accounting, treasury, budgeting, and compliance, while also leading digital transformation and risk management initiatives.
B. Essential Functions:
Financial Operations & Reporting
Direct all accounting activities, including preparation, reconciliation, and analysis of monthly balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow statements, and financial reporting for both Tenfold and Tenfold Community Lending.
Prepare and present financial reports to the Board Finance Committee.
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in financial statements and regulatory filings.
Manage cash flow, liquidity, and treasury functions to optimize financial performance.
Review monthly accounts receivable and accounts payable reports for any long outstanding items.
Create grant budgets prepared by the Development Team/Accounting Specialist for accuracy.
Ensure accurate entry of all grants and contracts into the grant management tracker.
Oversee biweekly payroll, all tax filings, 403(b) retirement plan, and unemployment reporting.
Budgeting and Resource Management
Develop, monitor, and report on annual operating, capital, reserve, and trust fund budgets.
Manage revenues and expenditures across all funds and departments.
Create and reconcile contracts and grant proposal budgets.
Risk Management and Compliance
Identify financial risks and implement controls to safeguard assets.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies.
Prepare for and assist outside auditors to complete audits and tax returns.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of integrity, empowerment and continuous improvement.
Select, supervise, and evaluate direct reports, including Internal and External Accounting Teams.
Determine the training needs and opportunities for the support department.
Collaborate with other departments to support organizational initiatives and drive operational efficiency.
Innovation and Technology
Champion digital transformation in finance, leveraging AI-drive planning and modern financial systems.
Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance reporting, forecasting, and compliance.

E. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Accounting/Finance) preferred.
CPA or CFA license is strongly preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or lending, with experience in financial leadership, strategic planning, and team management.
Expertise in GAAP principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance for both nonprofit and lending environments.
Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Grant/Contract compliance.
Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and accounting/financial systems; Power BI.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

F. Time Requirements:
Normal working hours: 8:30 - 5:00. However, work during budget times, monthly close-out, year-end audits and at other times may require more than 40 hours a week and some evenings.
G. Classification:
This position is classified as exempt from overtime and compensation is paid on a salaried basis.
