Maintenance Technician - Direct Hire (Elkhart, IN)Position OverviewThis company is a leading manufacturer of electronic components and systems used in automotive, marine, and industrial applications. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support production by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of manufacturing equipment across our facility.This role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring the continuous operation of injection molding, electronics assembly, and wire harness production equipment.Available Shift:Day Shift, Monday - FridayStarting Pay Range:$28/hr. - $32/hr.+Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & RepairDiagnose and repair equipment issues across multiple departments, including:Injection molding machines (140-900 ton presses)PCB assembly and soldering equipmentWire cutting, stripping, and crimping machinesCNC routers and fabrication equipmentTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsRepair or replace motors, sensors, relays, belts, bearings, and other componentsPreventative MaintenancePerform scheduled preventative maintenance on all production equipmentConduct inspections, lubrication, calibration, and part replacementMaintain maintenance logs and documentationElectrical & Controls TroubleshootingRead and interpret electrical schematics and diagramsTroubleshoot control systems, including basic PLC diagnosticsWork with sensors, switches, and automated systemsProduction SupportRespond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtimeWork closely with production, engineering, and quality teamsSupport continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgradesEquipment EnvironmentTechnicians will work on a diverse range of manufacturing equipment, including:Plastic injection molding machines (hydraulic & electric)PCB/soldering and electronics assembly systemsWire harness production equipmentCNC routers and engraving machinesConveyor systems, assembly lines, and testing stationsRequired Skills & Qualifications2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong electrical troubleshooting skills (preferred focus)Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawingsExperience with:Pneumatics and hydraulicsMechanical systems (bearings, belts, drives)Basic PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley or similar preferred)Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with injection molding equipmentBackground in electronics manufacturing or wire harness productionTechnical degree or certification (Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, etc.)Work EnvironmentFast-paced manufacturing settingHands-on, active role (not stationary)Mix of reactive troubleshooting and planned maintenanceExposure to both legacy and newer automated equipmentWhat Success Looks LikeRapid response to equipment issuesReduced downtime and improved machine reliabilityStrong cross-department supportAbility to troubleshoot a wide variety of systems confidently
