Travel COTA- Certified occupational Therapy Assistant for East Central Indiana to work in Muncie, Winchester, Portland, and Gas City.We are looking for applicants who have their Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensureWe are a looking to bring on to our team, COTA's who truly care about treating residents with respect and dignity, as well as other team members.Supervision received: Reports directly to the immediate supervising OTRTypical Physical Demands: Therapy Assistant must be able to perform the following physical job functions with or without reasonable accommodation:Lift up to 50lbs from floor to knuckle occasionallyLift up to 25lbs from knuckle to shoulder occasionallyLift up to 10lbs overhead occasionallyPivot transfer 150lbs occasionallyCarry up to 50lbs occasionallyPush/Pull 75lbs, 100ft occasionallyKneel, squat, stoop up to 15 minutes occasionallyDrive up to 2 hours occasionallyComprehensible verbal communication skills continuouslyVisual acuity corrected to 20/20Tactile discriminationFine hand manipulation, bilaterally frequentlyHeavy grasp, bilaterally frequentlyLegible written communication skills continuouslyStand up to 2 hours frequentlyCOTA Duties include:The COTA may conduct general activity programs and supportive or maintenance programs. He/She may not plan or evaluate individual or group treatment needs, but may make recommendations to the supervising OTR for consideration.It is the responsibility of the COTA to keep communication with the other personnel regarding the patient's total treatment program, especially to the OTR who will need to make appropriate altercations in treatment program need for a specific patient, the COTA is responsible for maintaining accurate records of treatments given and all appropriated paperwork according to the policies of the company with supervising Registered Occupational Therapist to co-sign all progress notes.COTA staff members are required to follow all established policies and procedures of the companyThe ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience:Hold current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Certification BoardHold a permanent or be eligible to apply to apply for a COTA license to practice in the state (as applicable) through the Board of Medical Examiners.Strong recommendation of membership to the American Occupational Therapy Association and State organizations.Full Details upon hiring.
