Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.Responsibilities/Essential FunctionsBecomes familiar with the garment numbering system (GID) and shipping schedule boardFollows a shipping schedule and knows the initial step to separate garments into routes for specific sort area (first, second, or third)Removes garments from supply rail, places on the appropriate conveyor or placard hook by route (first sort), by last man numbered (second sort), or by customer number (third sort)Hangs all shirts of the same route then hangs all pants before proceeding to the next batch/barRemoves odd garments and places them in the correct space on the odd numbered garment barInforms the supervisor of any quality, mechanical, or shipping schedule problemsWatches the end of the supply bars for falling garments and re-hangs fallen garments on appropriate barStops the line when jams or other problems occur further down the line and for breaksMonitors garments for wrinkles and removes garments not meeting specified quality standards in terms of ink stains, tears, holes, missing buttons, or loose tagsMaintains safe and clean work environment, and observes best practices in all production activitiesOther duties as assignedKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAbility to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructionsWorking knowledge of basic math skillsGood verbal and/or written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to meet attendance scheduleWorking Environment/Safety RequirementsWork is performed in a warehouse setting and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold conditions as well as dust and noiseWork is based on a shift schedule, and may include weekendsOvertime required as neededPhysical RequirementsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsPosition involves repetitive motions over the duration of an entire shiftRequires continuous reaching at shoulder and/or overhead levelRequires the use of hands for grasping and other manipulationsRequires standing and walking for long periods of timeEducationHigh school degree or equivalent preferredLocationMC#256 Mankato MNCompensationThe hourly rate that Vestis reasonably expects to pay for this position is $18.50 an hour, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.Shift6AM - 2:30PM Monday-FridayHeadquartered in Roswell, GA, Vestis® is the second largest provider in the industry with over 300,000 customer locations and approximately 20,000 teammates across North America.
