Apply via Dice today!Job Title: Accounting ManagerDepartment: Finance & AccountingReports To: Vice President, OperationsLocation: Evanston, IL Key Responsibilities:Responsible for processing daily accounting transactions (AP, AR, GL, Fixed Assets)Responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, with a primary focus on accounts payable and journal entriesPrepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a fast-moving environmentPrepare account reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesPrepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAPEnsure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and auditsCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partnersSupport sales tax compliance and filingsSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisOptimize accounting systems and tools as we scaleIdentify opportunities to automate and streamline workflowsSupport ad hoc projects, as neededQualificationBachelor s degree in accounting is required5+ years of progressive accounting experienceCPA preferred (or strong public accounting foundation)Strong understanding of GAAP and close processesComfortable operating with incomplete information and evolving prioritiesExperience with accounting systems and ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)Advanced Excel skillsSkills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and analytical thinkingClear written and verbal communicationProblem-solving and process-improvement mindsetAbility to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environmentCollaborative leadership style
