Who We Are Looking ForState Street is looking for a highly motivated, visually biased, versatile Product Designer to join our Global Experience Design (GXD) team. State Street Product Designers have a tremendous responsibility in defining the product and experience strategy, understanding and communicating user needs, and working with teams across multiple areas to prototype and build new digital experiences. We are looking for experienced designers who love to transform large-scale, complex problems into intuitive, simple, and impactful products. We know that the success of our business depends on our ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences, and we need designers who can collaborate with engineers, product owners, and others across the company to bring them to life.This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance working from home and the office to meet your needs and role requirements.What You Will Be Responsible ForAs Product Designer, you willDrive end-to-end design for State Street's financial products, ensuring cohesive UXHelp conduct user/product research, translate insights, and create user-centric solutions tailored to financial professionalsDeliver high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and wireframes for complex financial interfacesPartner with product managers, engineers, and financial experts at State Street, defining requirementsContribute to State Street's design system, ensuring consistency within financial platformsAnalyze data and iterate on designs for improvement, with a focus on accuracy and securityFoster design excellence within the context of financial designResearch technology and industry trends that can enhance State Street's product offerings, including exploring how the benefits of AI can be integrated into finance solutionsPresent design concepts to stakeholders that advocate for effective user solutionsManage design projects to successful completion within State Street's regulatory environmentWhat We ValueThese skills will help you succeed in this roleUtilize Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)Perform user research: interviews, surveys, usability testing, and data analysis, with experience in financial user research preferredDevelop interactive prototypes with Figma, Principle, or similarStructure and organize content, especially for complex financial dataApply typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy, with an understanding of data visualizationHelp build and maintain component libraries in State Streets Design SystemDesign for ADA/WCAG compliance following guidelines and best practicesFamiliar working in Agile/Scrum project frameworkDemonstrate strong presentation and articulation of design decisionsSolve problems through critical thinking and creative solutionsIncorporate analytics and user feedback into design decisionsPossess basic HTML/CSS knowledgeExhibit basic understanding of financial products and servicesEducation & Preferred Qualifications2+ years Designer experience, with demonstratable UX/UI skillsDegree in Design (Interaction, Graphic, Product), HCI, or related field a plusExperience working within a large, regulated enterpriseFront-end development experience a plusExperience designing complex financial or data applications a big plusAdditional Optional RequirementsBasic understanding of emerging Agentic/GenAI skills and practices with an eye towards how they can accelerate and elevate design practicesMotion design experience helpfulPlease provide a link to your design portfolio (or attach a PDF) with any necessary passwords.Salary Range$90,000 - $157,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
