About the Role:The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) provides routine daily nursing care and medication administration for residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative support. This role is carried out in line with established procedures and under the guidance of the supervising nurse. Responsibilities:Administer prescribed medications, monitor residents for any side effects, and promptly report concerns to nursing staff. Maintain accurate records of medication administration and document any changes in residents' conditions. Follow state regulations and facility policies to ensure medication safety and adherence to proper procedures. Assist with laundry as needed and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor. Assist in maintaining medication supplies and report shortages or discrepancies as needed. Support daily resident care routines, including personal care and housekeeping assistance. Assist in the orientation and development of new CMAs and CNAs. Observe residents' conditions and report relevant information; review care plans daily for any updates. Conduct safety surveys, keep resident rooms tidy, and ensure linens are replaced as needed. Promptly respond to resident call lights, addressing needs in a timely and appropriate manner. Professionally conduct self, maintain confidentiality of resident care information, and adhere to facility policies. Follow the dress code and provide notice for any absences or tardiness. Qualifications:Education:High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience:Previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred. Certification:Completion of a Certified Medication Aide program; must meet state-required continuing education requirements. Skills:Strong knowledge of nursing practices, with clinical competency in medication administration and infection control procedures. Language:Ability to read, speak, and write in English. Training:Completion of a minimum of 12 hours of in-service education annually required.
