Procurement Engineer

About the Opportunity:We are seeking a Procurement Engineer to support large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects. This role serves as the on-site procurement and supply chain lead, partnering closely with project management teams to ensure materials, equipment, subcontractors, logistics, and vendor relationships are managed efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.The ideal candidate has experience supporting major construction projects, strong knowledge of HVAC/mechanical systems and equipment, and a proven ability to manage procurement activities while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality objectives.Key Responsibilities:Procurement & Project SupportLead procurement activities for project equipment, materials, rentals, and services.Develop and maintain procurement logs, tracking all purchases from buyout through project closeout.Coordinate closely with project teams to ensure procurement activities align with construction schedules and milestones.Participate in project meetings and communicate material status, lead times, and potential risks.Vendor & Subcontractor ManagementSolicit pricing, negotiate with suppliers, and secure competitive purchasing agreements.Manage purchase orders, change orders, and subcontract commitments.Maintain strong relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and subcontractors while resolving delivery, payment, and warranty issues.Coordinate returns, credits, and supplier performance as needed.Equipment, Logistics & Jobsite CoordinationManage equipment rental agreements and perform rent-versus-buy evaluations.Coordinate transportation and logistics for project deliveries.Support jobsite setup needs, including temporary facilities and project support services.Monitor material deliveries and equipment releases to ensure schedule compliance.Qualifications3–5+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, project engineering, or construction operations experience.Experience supporting large commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission-critical, manufacturing, or similar construction projects preferred.Working knowledge of MEP or General construction materials and equipment required.Familiarity with construction purchasing, vendor management, subcontract administration, and job cost controls.Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
