A K-5 Physical Education teacher develops fundamental motor skills, physical fitness, and healthy lifestyle habits in elementary students. Responsibilities include planning, age-appropriate, inclusive lessons, managing gym equipment safety, and fostering sportsmanship all within the framework of our mission as a Catholic school. Summary of BenefitsSalary Range dependent upon experience and degree $38,000-$55,000RequirementsCurriculum & Instruction: Develop and implement K-5 age-appropriate PE curriculum focusing on fundamental motor skills, movement, and physical literacy.Skill Development: Teach basic sports skills, agility, coordination, and team-based activities.Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure equipment is properly used and maintained.Student Assessment: Evaluate, document, and report student progress, participation, and skill development.Inclusivity: Adapt activities to accommodate students with varying abilities, needs, and backgrounds.Promotion of Health: Motivate students to adopt a healthy, active lifestyleFaith Formation: Infuse Catholic teachings in lessons for students and participate in ongoing catechetical formation as a teacher.Physical RequirementsFrequently standing, walking, and moving around a gym or outdoor field.Occasional lifting and handling of sports equipment.Work EnvironmentThe role involves working both indoors in a gymnasium and outdoors.Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation/Certification: Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field, plus state-required teaching licensure/certification.Knowledge: Expertise in child development, physical education, and health education.Communication: Excellent communication skills to work with students, staff, and parents.Salary Description
