Position Overview
The Production Engineer at the Lexington, NC facility provides direct engineering support to manufacturing operations, with a strong emphasis on real-time shop floor issue resolution, design evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration. This role serves as a key interface between Engineering, Production, Test, and Quality to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of manufacturing activities while driving continuous improvement.
The position includes approximately one month of onboarding and training in Sacramento, CA, designed to establish a strong foundation in company processes, systems, and cross-functional workflows prior to assuming full site responsibilities.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like:
Provide hands-on engineering support for design- and process-related issues identified in production and revenue service
Evaluate manufacturing issues and determine appropriate corrective actions while minimizing production schedule impact
Lead and coordinate resolution of complex issues requiring collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines
Ensure design intent (fit, form, and function) is clearly communicated and correctly executed on the production floor
Develop and release repair procedures, field modification instructions, and design fixes based on platform requirements and issue complexity
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and reduction of recurring issues
Interface regularly with Production, Test, and Quality teams to ensure alignment and timely resolution of concerns
To Thrive in This Role, You Have:
Associate degree in a related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience
Experience using 3D CAD modeling software (completed coursework may be considered as experience)
Familiarity with manufacturing environments and working directly on the shop floor
Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
We would be impressed if you had:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Experience with PTC Creo 9 (or demonstrated ability and willingness to learn)
Design experience with welded steel structures and large/small welded or bolted assemblies
Mechanical–electrical integration experience
Sheet metal, fiberglass, and plastic part design experience
Experience creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Experience releasing parts through Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN/ECO)

The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $83,640 - $98,328. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
