DOME Lab Technician
Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Technician to support the DOME Lab, with a primary focus on development kit (Dev Kit) operations and lab safety ownership. This role plays a critical part in enabling R&D and customer-facing technical teams by ensuring development kits are accurately built, documented, packaged, and delivered.The DOME Lab Technician works closely with R&D to manage bills of materials, generate part numbers, support low-level change management, and maintain accurate inventory. This role also owns lab safety activities, including routine audits and safety walkthroughs across multiple labs.The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable with hands-on assembly and documentation work, and takes pride in accuracy, process discipline, and safety ownership.Key ResponsibilitiesDev Kit Assembly & TestingBuild and validate development kits for internal technical teams and external customers.Verify kit configuration, completeness, and basic functionality prior to release.Component Sourcing & BOM ManagementWork closely with R&D to update bills of materials (BOMs) for development kits.Support component sourcing activities to ensure required parts are available.Generate part numbers and perform classification work as required.Packaging & ShippingEnsure development kits are properly packaged in accordance with defined requirements.Prepare and ship development kits to internal teams and customers.Coordinate shipments and track deliveries as needed.Guide & SDS ManagementCreate, update, and maintain Quick Start Guides and User Guides for development kits.Create, update, and manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) associated with development kits.Ensure documentation is accurate, current, and aligned with kit configurations.Change Management & InventorySupport change management activities for low-level changes affecting development kits.Maintain accurate inventory of development kits, components, and related materials.Track inventory levels and support reconciliation activities.Lab Safety OwnershipOwn lab safety responsibilities, including monthly audits.Participate in quarterly office safety walkthroughs for multiple labs.Ensure safety documentation and requirements are maintained and followed.QualificationsAssociate’s degree, technical certificate, or equivalent hands-on experience.Experience in a technical, lab, manufacturing, or operations support role.Ability to follow structured processes and maintain accurate records.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.Desired SkillsExperience assembling hardware kits or technical systems.Familiarity with bills of materials (BOMs), part numbers, or inventory tracking.Comfort creating and maintaining technical documentation and SDS files.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.Clear written and verbal communication skills.Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with R&D teams.The pay range for this position is $25 to $36 USD per hour (applies to United States of America candidates only).
