Construction Inspector
Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified Construction Inspector/Resident Project Representative (RPR) with extensive experience in construction oversight and inspection within airport environments. The RPR will be responsible for managing on-site construction activities, ensuring that all work complies with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. This role requires an individual with strong leadership, communication, and technical skills who can manage projects independently while serving as a liaison between the contractor, client, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Represent the Project Manager in overseeing all aspects of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
Conduct thorough inspections of construction activities, including materials, techniques, and contractor performance, to verify adherence to contract requirements.
Ensure the contractor's Quality Control (QC) processes meet the necessary standards, and verify Quality Assurance (QA) measures are being executed correctly.
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the client, contractor, and external agencies, effectively managing communications and project coordination.
Review project plans, specifications, and technical documents to identify and resolve potential issues, ensuring practicality and cost-efficiency.
Document and report project progress, including the preparation of field reports, electronic notes, photos, and sketches to capture any modifications or field changes.
Assist with the evaluation of bids, cost estimates, and change orders, providing technical insights and recommendations.
Skills
Minimum of 5 years of construction experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
Demonstrated experience in airport construction, including knowledge of airfield operations (AOA), pavement (asphalt and concrete), earthwork, utilities, and airfield markings.
Legal authorization to work in the United States, with the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
A valid driver’s license with the ability to travel and work on remote job sites (up to 25%-40% of the time).
Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, contracts, and specifications.
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience working on active airport projects, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and industry standards.
Strong background in project management, particularly within the aviation sector.
Experience in overseeing the installation and quality control of asphalt and concrete pavements as well as vertical trades.

Additional Information:
This position requires a 180-day probationary period.
Travel to remote construction sites will be required approximately 25%-40% of the time.
Candidates must be able to meet all security clearance and drug testing requirements necessary for working in sensitive airport environments.
