Physical Therapist Assistant
Join the UOC team! University Orthopedics Center, a leader in orthopedic care throughout Central PA for over 30 years, is currently seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant.
We are excited to meet highly motivated candidates who have clinical knowledge and excellent people skills. Responsible for assisting the staff of physical therapists in all functions. Some analysis and adaptive thinking is required. Implement patient treatment programs as developed by a physical therapist. Engage in consultation with the physical therapist as to any changes in the patient’s condition or response to treatment which may warrant re-evaluation or alteration of the established treatment plan or goals. Maintain accurate documentation in patient treatment records and daily notes. Submit billing sheets for each patient treated with the use of correct coding. Participate in staff meetings and educational in-services and seminars.
Responsibilities:
To effectively implement patient treatment programs as developed by the primary physical therapist following established procedures and observing safety precautions in the application of modalities and therapy procedures.
To note the established treatment goals for each patient and to direct the patient’s performance to attain these goals.
To maintain accurate treatment records and current daily notes, recording any changes in the patient’s condition and/or response to treatment.
To engage in consultation with the primary physical therapist as to any changes in the patient’s condition or response to treatment which may warrant re-evaluation, alteration of the established treatment program or goals, or further medical evaluation.
To submit billing sheets for each patient treated in accordance with established corporate policy in an accurate and timely manner.
To assist the physical therapist with discharge planning and patient/family education upon a patient’s discharge from treatment.
To attend and participate in all clinic in-service education programs and staff meetings.
To act in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the APTA while performing all assigned duties.
Consistently complies with standards related to confidentiality of patient and organizational information to include HIPPA regulations.
Maintain the facility in a clean and organized fashion throughout the day.
To adhere to clinic policies and procedures.
To assist in other clinical functions as requested by the Physical Therapy Manager, Clinical Coordinator, Performance Improvement Coordinator, and/or the Staff Physical Therapists.
To follow all state laws regarding scope of practice.
Job Specifications:
Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
Pennsylvania licensed or licensed – eligible.
Must possess the ability to relate and work well with patients, peers, and supervisors.
Must possess exceptional communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.25 - $27.00 per hour
