Electrical Engineer (Engineer Electrical 2)

Position Summary A full‑time, exempt Electrical Engineer will support DoD programs at HII Mission Technologies located in Warner Robins, GA. The role requires onsite work, but hybrid arrangements may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis. Responsibilities Data analysis, root‑cause analysis and teardown of aircraft electrical, electronic, and electro‑mechanical components and subsystems, including embedded software, to identify problems affecting reliability and performance. Research, design, prototype development and testing of electrical and electronic components and subsystems to remedy performance and reliability issues. Research, design, development and test of electronic equipment and systems such as radar, radiation detection equipment, power electronics, communications equipment, circuitry, integrated circuits, analog and digital computers, processors, FPGA and associated firmware, and control and test equipment. Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software ensuring software standards are met. Create production‑level technical data packages. Work directly with senior technical personnel and project managers to plan and execute technical activities on complex product‑development projects. Prepare and review technical reports, status reports, letters, memoranda, contract reports and briefings; author or co‑author reports when appropriate. Provide formal briefings to staff and project sponsors and lead technical discussions at reviews and negotiations. Identify opportunities for follow‑on tasking, develop related briefings, proposals, and collaborate with relevant channels for presentation. Support intra‑organizational proposal development and, when applicable, contribute to inter‑organizational technical and business development activities. Minimum Qualifications 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 0 years with a Master’s degree in a related field. Demonstrated command of engineering principles, methods, and techniques in the area of expertise. Advanced knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software. Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills at customer and organizational level. Experience with Solid Works or equivalent 3D modeling program. Experience with Microsoft Office suite, AutoCAD, SQL, C++, and other programming languages. Experience with circuit design software (Altium Designer, KiCad, etc.) Security clearance: US citizenship required for a security clearance; a security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment. Preferred Requirements 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years with a Master’s degree, or 0 years with a PhD or JD in a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Active DoD SECRET clearance. Physical Requirements Work in office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environments; ability to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces and extreme temperature variations.
