VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Architect – Remote | 12+ Month ContractLocation: Remote (USA)Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Architect to lead the design and architecture of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.x environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in VCF architecture, including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, SDDC Manager, and VCF migration strategies. This role focuses on architecture, design documentation, customer engagement, and technical leadership for enterprise cloud infrastructure projects.Key ResponsibilitiesLead customer discovery sessions and technical design workshops.Gather business and technical requirements for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments.Design High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), and JSON configuration templates for VCF 9.x deployments.Develop architecture for workload domains, NSX networking, vSAN storage policies, Fleet Management, and SDDC Manager integration.Define migration strategies from legacy VMware environments to VCF 9.x/9.1.Produce architecture diagrams, implementation documentation, and design specifications.Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and customer stakeholders throughout project delivery.Review and approve technical design documents ensuring alignment with VMware and Broadcom best practices.Work closely with internal product, engineering, and sales teams to deliver enterprise cloud solutions.Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance during implementation.Develop training and enablement materials for engineering teams.Ensure deployments meet enterprise security and compliance standards, including NIST and FedRAMP where applicable.Serve as the VMware Cloud Foundation subject matter expert (SME) for customer engagements.Required Skills10+ years of VMware infrastructure experience.5+ years of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) architecture experience.Hands-on experience designing VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.x environments.Experience with VCF 9.1 planning and design.Strong knowledge of:VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)VMware vSphereVMware ESXiNSXvSANSDDC ManagerVMware Aria OperationsVMware Aria AutomationExperience creating HLD, LLD, architecture diagrams, and implementation documentation.Experience with workload domain design and lifecycle management.Strong understanding of JSON-based configuration and automation.Experience planning enterprise VMware migrations and modernization projects.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to lead customer-facing workshops and architecture reviews.Preferred QualificationsVMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)VMware Cloud Foundation certificationVMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) (preferred)Experience working with Broadcom VMware solutions.Experience with automation using PowerCLI, Python, or REST APIs.Knowledge of enterprise security frameworks such as NIST and FedRAMP.Public sector or large enterprise infrastructure experience is a plus.
