About the CompanyWe are seeking an experienced Controller with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including deep expertise in percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting within a manufacturing or project-based environment.About the RoleThis role will own the financial close process, oversee job costing integrity, and deliver accurate monthly POC reporting tied to active contracts. The Controller will work directly with Project Managers, AR, AP, and executive leadership to ensure financial visibility, margin protection, and compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone comfortable operating in a dynamic, production-driven environment with complex contracts.ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Close Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesEnsure accurate general ledger accounting and reconciliationsPrepare timely internal financial statements and executive reporting packagesOversee audit preparation and external CPA coordinationPercentage-of-Completion (POC) Accounting Develop and maintain monthly POC/WIP schedulesValidate cost-to-complete estimates in coordination with Project ManagersCalculate earned revenue, over/under billings, and gross margin by projectMonitor contract modifications and change orders for revenue recognition impactEnsure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standardsJob Costing & Project Financial Controls Partner with Project Managers to track job performance and forecast profitabilityReview cost coding accuracy and support monthly margin reviewsMaintain integrity of job cost systemAnalyze labor, material, subcontractor, and overhead allocationsAR, AP & Billing Oversight Oversee accounts receivable processes including progress billing and retention trackingEnsure timely and accurate invoicing tied to project milestonesSupervise accounts payable operations and cash flow management QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experienceDemonstrated experience with Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accountingManufacturing or construction/job-cost environmentsWIP reporting and revenue recognition under ASC 606Experience managing AR/AP teamsStrong ERP system experience (Epicor or similar preferred)Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, WIP schedules, cost analysis) Required SkillsComfortable working in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environmentDetail-oriented but able to see the big financial pictureStrong communicator able to interface with engineers and project managersProactive in identifying margin risk and cost overrun trendsHands-on leader willing to dive into schedules, reconciliations, and job data Preferred SkillsPerformance Metrics (First 12 Months)Monthly close consistently completed on scheduleAccurate and defensible POC reportingImproved job cost visibility and forecast accuracyReduced aging in AR and improved cash cycleStrengthened financial reporting clarity for executive decision-making Pay range and compensation package[Pay range or salary or compensation]Equal Opportunity Statement[Include a statement on commitment to diversity and inclusivity.]
