JOB DSHS ALTSA Social Service Specialist 5This role supports the Aging and Long Term Services Administration (ALTSA) mission to transform lives by promoting choice, independence, and safety through innovative services. This is a specialist level social service supervisor position within Home and Community Services (HCS) that supervises, coaches, and direct professional staff located in different office locations.This role works effectively and collaboratively with our community partners fostering good communication and demonstrating reliability. In this position, you are required to have excellent organizational skills with an ability to coordinate multiple tasks in various stages of completion.The main office location can be based out of Union Gap or Kennewick. Please select the location you are interested in through our Supplemental Questions.Some of what you'll be doing: Plan, assign, direct and administer ALTSA HCS service programs to include Nursing Facility Case Management and RelocationProvide direct supervision to professional staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, mentoring, coaching, and directing staffImplement performance standards and perform quality assurance review activities on work completed by staff to ensure compliance with program requirements and expectationsRespond to client complaints, legislative inquires, constituent complaints, and/or questions from providers, clients, legal representatives, elected officials, HQ and mediate resolutionsMaintain attendance records for the unitServe as back-up supervisor to other management staff during absencesParticipate in work groups/committees/task force at the local, regional, or statewide level for improvement in program administration and coordinationAttend management and supervisor meetings when requiredWho should apply?Professionals who can understand and apply medical terminology specifically related to aging and long-term clients and one of the following: A Master's degree* in criminal justice, social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field and four years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2Or, a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field, and six years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2Or, one year of experience as a Social Service Specialist 4Or, two years as a Social Service Specialist 3Or, four years as a Social Service Specialist 2*A two-year Master's degree in the indicated fields that included a practicum may substitute for 1 year of paid social service experience.Interested?
