Associate Director of Admission- Events and Communications

Hendrix College seeks a full-time, 12-month Associate Director of Admission– Events and Communications who is energized by creating meaningful, human-centered experiences for prospective students and families. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Enrollment and serving on the Enrollment Leadership team, this role provides leadership for the planning and execution of admission events, manages digital and print communications and event workflows, and oversees the Student Ambassador Tour Guide program. This role also oversees 1 full-time administrative assistant.Key Responsibilities:Admission Events & Visit ExperienceLead the planning and execution of Hendrix’s admission events, including daily visit programming, preview events, admitted student events, group visits, counselor programs, virtual programs, and other recruitment and yield-focused experiencesWith the support of the Recruitment Events and Visit Specialist, serve as the manager for admission events, timelines, run-of-show documents, space reservations, registration processes, staffing, accessibility considerations, and post-event follow-upCollaborate closely with faculty, student life, athletics, alumni, facilities, dining, IT, and marketing partners to ensure cohesive, welcoming, and mission-aligned eventsMaintain event calendars, operational templates, and planning documentation to ensure consistency and continuous improvementAdmissions Communications (Print and Digital)With the support of the Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Enrollment, oversee the logistics, scheduling, and execution of admissions communications (including print, digital, and Slate) throughout the recruitment funnel, from inquiry through enrollment, working closely with vendors to ensure adherence to timeline, budget, and overall communication planBuild and manage communications workflows in Slate, including event invitations, confirmations, reminders, application and admission communications, and yield messagingServe as primary contact with the Hendrix College Marketing team to ensure the coordinate the needs and execution of creative collateral for the print and digital needs of the admission officeMaintain a communications calendar that supports enrollment goals while prioritizing a personalized, student-centered approachStudent Ambassador & Intern Program LeadershipLead the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of student interns and the “HEAT” Student Ambassador Tour Guide programWith the support of the Recruitment Events and Visit Specialist, manage tour coverage and visit staffing models that balance enrollment priorities, student employment needs, and campus rhythmProvide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluation for student employees, fostering professionalism, leadership development, and pride in representing HendrixCollaboration & Community EngagementRepresent Hendrix College in a warm, welcoming, and professional manner with prospective students, families, counselors, and community partnersContribute to a collaborative Admission team culture where flexibility, mutual support, and shared responsibility are essentialParticipate in additional admission initiatives as needed, which may include application reading, staff training, and special projects during peak cyclesOther duties as assignedQualifications:Required:Bachelor’s degreeMinimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience, preferably in admission events or communicationsDemonstrated success planning and executing complex events with multiple stakeholders.Strong mind of logistics and creating operational workflowsProficiency with Slate CRM, particularly events, forms, queries, and communications workflowsExperience supervising, training, and mentoring professional staff and student employees or ambassadorsMust be a self-starter and possess a can-do attitudeA valid driver's license is requiredWork Environment:This position is primarily on-site, located in an office setting on the Hendrix College campus. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during key periods such as board meetings or campus events.Consideration of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
