Company OverviewAllen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup founded by two former Navy electrical engineers with a proven track record in robotics and software. We are developing an autonomous gun turret using advanced computer vision and control systems to precisely detect, track, and neutralize enemy drones.Position OverviewAs a Test Engineer, your primary mission is to own product acceptance and end-of-line (EOL) test systems as we transition from development into scaled production. This role is responsible for building and maintaining reliable, repeatable test processes that ensure every unit shipped meets performance and quality expectations. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering to improve yield, resolve failures, and enable increasing production rates. This is a hands-on role. You will be expected to both design systems and step in to support execution when needed.What You'll DoOwn development and maintenance of product acceptance and EOL test systemsDesign and implement test processes that are robust, repeatable, and scalableDrive improvements in test throughput to support increasing production ratesAnalyze test data to identify yield issues, failure trends, and opportunities for improvementLead root cause investigations and implement corrective actionsDesign fixtures, instrumentation, and automation to improve consistency and reduce manual effortPartner with engineering to improve testability and manufacturabilityWork closely with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve issues and maintain production flowDevelop and maintain test procedures, documentation, and work instructionsContinuously improve test systems to increase reliability, uptime, and scalabilityWhat You'll NeedBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience in hardware testing, preferably in a production or manufacturing environmentExperience with test instrumentation (DMMs, oscilloscopes, DAQ systems, power supplies, etc.)Ability to analyze test data and identify trends impacting yield and performanceExperience with root cause analysis and implementing corrective actionsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, production-driven environmentWillingness to be hands-on and support test execution when neededYou’ll Stand OutYou have experience building or supporting EOL/production test systemsYou’ve improved test throughput, yield, or system reliability in a measurable wayYou have experience with test automation (Python, C++, or similar)You’ve designed fixtures or hardware interfaces for production testingYou think in terms of systems, scalability, and failure modes – not just test executionYou’ve worked in a high-growth or startup environmentWhat We OfferCompetitive salaryACS Equity PackageHealth, Dental, and Vision InsurancePaid Time OffAllen Control Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer, providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment.
