Mechanical Engineer Intern
Dirt Revolution Cycles is a small passionate team of engineers and mountain bike enthusiasts formed to unlock the potential of e-motors and systems on the riding experience. Our core philosophy revolves around supporting boutique motor manufacturers, component suppliers and app developers so that we can together elevate the e-MTB experience. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team for 9-11 weeks during the Summer of 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various bench and field tests on e-bike motors, gear systems, drivetrain components and equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance at our Tacoma WA test facility. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform specific tests on e-Bikes, mountain bikes, electrical motors, controllers and drivetrain components.Hands-on experience with bicycle drivetrains, gear systems and frames.Passionate about tinkering, building & even breaking things.Document test results and prepare detailed reports.Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in test apparatus.Support testing staff during our annual Moab, UT summer testing trip.Collaborate and receive mentorship from seasoned engineers.QualificationsAt minimum Sophomore level status at an ABET Accredited Engineering institution.Proven experience in mechanical engineering, testing and troubleshooting.Bike shop / mechanic or mountain bike experience required.Familiarity with e-Bike motors, bicycle drivetrains, components, controllers and Lithium-ION batteries.Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks / OnShape).Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.BenefitsWe offer competitive pay ($23-$28 per hr.) and discount rates on efficiency apartment housing.
