Financial Accounting Assistant

Job SummaryThe Financial Accounting Assistant will assist with preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activitiesEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide bookkeeping/accounting support to the trust accounts established for consumers whom SERV is representative payeeProvide bookkeeping/accounting support for all monthly Consumer Receivable accounts for rent and contribution to careRecords journal entries and assist with month end close and related reconciliations.Prepares and distributes reports on all accounts; maintains and records all deposits and disbursements related to the trust accountsMaintains files of all cash disbursements to clients; secures authorized signatures on requested checksPrepares and distributes monthly invoices/statements for fee-for-service chargesReconciles all trust accounts and consumer accounts on a monthly basis and follow up with payments that are in arrearsMaintains trust account balances to remain below threshold to remain eligible for Medicaid benefitsCalculates and initiates transfer of funds to pooled trust account when appropriateProcess payments for invoices due from consumers: such as rent and medical expensesCommunicates to guardians, staff and other applicable parties when neededProvides outside agencies and auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform audit(s)Maintains subledger for rents in tandem with Properties and ManagementPerforms other related duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar softwareProficient with Sage Intaact preferred but not requiredMaintains positive working relationships with staff members, both at the administrative offices and at program locationsEducation, Knowledge, Skill & AbilityHigh school diploma or equivalent;2 years relevant experience preferred;Valid driver’s license in state of residence.SALARY:$28.34 per hour.Eeo StatementWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
