Hardware Development Engineer- Microelectronics
Overview
As a Hardware Development Engineer for Starlink, you help bring PCBA and microelectronics to high-volume production, translating design into manufacturable hardware. You will work closely with design and production teams to implement robust, scalable manufacturing processes and drive cost and quality improvements. Your work supports Starlink’s mission to deliver global broadband and enable new applications at scale. You will operate in a fast-paced, technically rigorous environment where outcomes impact millions of users.

ResponsibilitiesManage new product introduction of PCBA/microelectronics assembliesQualify new equipment, design line layout and toolingDrive design for manufacturing feedback to enable manufacturing independence from engineeringIdentify trends to optimize output, quality, and cost of manufacturabilityOversee volume production processes including MES, nonconforming product management, configuration management, traceability, yields, and process controlMaintain work instructions, process documentation, and training materials
Key requirementsBachelor's degree in science and engineering1+ years in manufacturing process engineering, SMT, accelerated testing, design for reliability, or PCB design and layout/R&DExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work autonomously and in a teamThrives in a fast-paced, demanding environmentSMTPCB design and layoutIPC/JEDEC manufacturing standards
