Restaurant Dishwasher/Food Prep
ComboThe Cornbread Combo is a dual role this person is responsible for cleaning of plates, flatware, pots, pans, equipment, and general kitchen areas, as well as, preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of items accurately and efficiently for various meal periods.Prep Responsibilities Include:Manage all types of food and food products to prepare and present for dining customersFollow all Cornbread Standard Operating Procedures to properly and efficiently prep/prepare all hot and cold food to the DOH and Cornbread's standardsPerform basic cooking tasks such as stirring, straining, and parboiling food and reducing sauces, measuring seasonings, condiments, and ingredients for use in cookingWork as a team with the management staff by performing routine cleaning and basic upkeep of the front and the back of the housePerform general duties associated with setting up and breaking down stations throughout the kitchen and restaurant to start or close a shift as directedRotate, label, and date all products to minimize waste and spoilageInform the Chef on Duty of any sub-par product before the start of serviceMaintain all kitchen equipment in clean working order at all times and escalate any issues to leadershipPractice safe and clean work habits to avoid injury to self and othersUpdates knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunitiesDishwasher Responsibilities and Duties:Responsible for set-up, operation, and cleaning of the dish machineScrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into the dish machineWash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishesClean, sanitize, and maintain dish machineUnload dishes and utensils from the dish machine and organize them properlyClean food prep stations and equipmentEmpty garbage containers and move to designated areas regularlySweeps and mops; removes trash from Food Services areas, maintaining a clean and professional areaEnsures that we meet or exceed DOH guidelinesSupport kitchen teams in receiving and storing goodsAssist kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak timesPerform opening, closing, and side workPerform additional cleaning duties as requestedQualificationsFood Service: 1 year as a prep cook or similar roleProficiency in technology, writing, readingPeople skills: Dealing with a team proactively, professionally, and positively.Ownership: Takes initiative, personally drives & takes pride in business.Food Handlers certificate within 30 days or Serv Safe equivalentAbility to lift 50+ lbs, operate carts, and hand trucks, and stand for long periodsAble to be detail-oriented, organized, safety-minded, trustworthy, and efficient.Able to work indoors and sometimes outdoors throughout the shift. Cooks spend most of their time in the kitchen, with occasional work in outdoor areas.
