Lab Engineer (Onsite – Hopkinton, MA)Large Technology Client We are seeking a hands-on Lab Engineer to support a cutting-edge engineering environment for a leading global technology organization. This role is 100% onsite in Hopkinton, MA and will focus on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing lab infrastructure used for product development, testing, and validation.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, hardware-focused environment and thrives on solving complex technical challenges.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, configure, and maintain lab hardware systems including servers, storage, and networking equipmentSupport lab operations by troubleshooting hardware, firmware, and basic software issuesRack, stack, cable, and decommission equipment as neededMonitor lab health and ensure uptime, performance, and reliability of test environmentsCollaborate with engineering teams to support testing, validation, and deployment activitiesMaintain accurate documentation of lab configurations, inventory, and proceduresAssist with lab organization, asset tracking, and equipment lifecycle managementFollow and enforce lab safety, security, and operational best practicesRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience in a lab, data center, or hardware support environmentStrong hands-on experience with server hardware, storage systems, and networking fundamentalsExperience with racking/stacking, cabling, and physical infrastructure managementFamiliarity with Linux or Windows environments for basic troubleshootingAbility to diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues efficientlyStrong organizational skills and attention to detailPreferred QualificationsExperience working in enterprise lab or test environmentsExposure to storage technologies, RAID configurations, or data center operationsBasic scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell)Familiarity with ticketing systems and asset management toolsAdditional DetailsLocation: Hopkinton, MA (100% onsite)Schedule: Standard business hours (may require occasional flexibility)Type: ContractEnvironment: Fast-paced, collaborative, and highly technicalIf you’re someone who enjoys working close to the hardware and being a critical part of engineering operations, this is a great opportunity to gain experience with advanced technologies in a world-class lab setting.If you want, I can also tailor this to be more attractive for LinkedIn (shorter + punchier) or align it to a specific Dell product line (storage vs servers) to attract better candidates.
