My role is to keep the workforce safe, ensure rapid response to incidents, and build systems that prevent injuries and improve overall health and performance.This site also serves as a pilot program, where we test, refine, and build the blueprint for future mega projects.District OverviewThe Kiewit Industrial District delivers direct-hire construction services for complex industrial projects across the United States. Our culture is built on collaboration, innovation, integrity, and a shared passion for construction.If you’re ready to take on complex, high-impact projects and make a lasting difference in the construction industry, the Kiewit Industrial District is where you can build a career that truly matters.LocationThis role is based out of our Abilene Texas office.Responsibilities Onsite Medical OperationsOversee daily clinic operations (EMTs, Paramedics, NPs/PAs)Ensure proper injury care, documentation, and return-to-work decisionsSet clinical workflows and standards Emergency Response LeadershipLead all onsite emergency medical responseDirect response during serious incidentsRun emergency drills and preparedness planningCoordinate with EMS, fire, and hospitals Safety IntegrationPartner with Safety to investigate injuries and determine root causeEnsure alignment between medical & safety (“one story”)Support high-risk work planning Crisis Management & PlanningBuild and maintain:Crisis Management PlanMedical & Emergency SOPsEmergency Action Plans (EAPs)Continuously improve based on incidents and drills Workers’ Compensation CoordinationLiaison with corporate workers’ comp teamEnsure proper reporting and early intervention Mental Health Program (In Development)Build onsite mental health program with corporateIntegrate EAP, training, and worker resources Heat Stress & Environmental HealthDevelop heat stress program with Korey Stringer InstituteImplement prevention, monitoring, and training External PartnershipsBuild relationships with:Local hospitalsDoctors and specialistsEmergency servicesEnsure smooth transitions for higher-level care Data, Reporting & Continuous ImprovementTrack trends (injuries, clinic use, response times)Report insights to leadershipUse data to improve systems and decision-making Program Development & Future State (Blueprint Building)Use this project as a testing ground for what works and what doesn’tDevelop scalable models for:Onsite medical operationsEmergency response systemsWorker health programs (mental health, heat, prevention)Document lessons learned, best practices, and standard processesContribute to building a repeatable model for future mega sites.
